Australian wine company Taylors Wines is pleased with their early sales results in New Zealand. In a press release and sales report, Taylors said it was seeing early results from its investment in the New Zealand market with strong sales increases in the first quarter of its new distribution company.
Company Director, Asia Pacific Market Manager and third generation family member Justin Taylor said New Zealand has always been one of Taylor’s most important export markets and the company is delighted with its early sales success.
The key results in the Aztec sales data for March to May 2014 showed:
- Taylors Shiraz is the number one selling shiraz in the $15 to $20 market with sales volume up by 23%.
- Taylors are number two for total red wine sales across New Zealand.
- The value of Taylors red wine sales is up by 13% on the same period last year.
Taylors also noted these results should be considered against a background where New Zealand wine sales for the quarter declined by 2.2%.
Justin Taylor is currently visiting New Zealand to launch Taylors inaugural 2009 The Visionary Cabernet Sauvignon at dinners in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. This wine is Taylors Wines pinnacle release and will retail for $180 in New Zealand.
