Continued growth in the brewing industry has prompted the Brewers Guild to seek a full-time Executive Director.
“Brewery numbers doubled between 2011 and 2016, and that growth shows no signs of stopping,” says Emma McCashin, President of the Brewer’s Guild. “Our industry is changing fast and last year our members voted to transform from a volunteer-run Guild, increase member fees and hire an Executive Director.”
The Guild formed in 2006 and is currently run by a ten-member Executive Committee made up of brewery representatives.
“Brewing has grown into a diverse and complex industry. The Guild’s role is changing as our industry becomes more professional and brewers face the challenges all growing businesses share, while facing extra responsibilities and regulation as alcohol-producers. We want the new role to become the recognised voice for the New Zealand beer industry.”
The new Executive Director will lead the Guild’s transformation while building communications with members and continuing the Guild’s annual beer competition and awards. The twelve-month position is flexible in terms of where th e success candidate is based, and would suit someone with experience in advocacy, stakeholder relations and media engagement. Knowing a good beer when you taste one would be helpful too.
Applications close on 5 March and details are available on Seek.co.nz
