Corona, Parley for the Oceans and World Surf League have partnered with a series of pro-surfers and artists to create a range of limited-edition reusable bags made from Ocean Plastic, which will support the ban of single-use plastic in Bali.
The bags are designed by Stephanie Gilmore, Gabriel Medina and Rosy Hodge in partnership with artists Nadia Hernandez, Speto and Gemma O’Brien, and the sale of each bag funds the donation of three reusable bags to the Balinese community, and the removal of more than 20 bottles worth of plastic from oceans and coastlines.
Bali recently announced a ban of all single-use plastic, so for the first time, Balinese and visitors to Bali will have to rely exclusively on reusable bags. This initiative aims to provide local households in one of New Zealand’s favourite tourist destinations with reusable alternatives, to help with the transition.
Corona, Parley and World Surf League have already donated 20,000 reusable bags made from Ocean Plastic to the Balinese community, and aim over time to provide one bag for every household in Indonesia.
