Patrón Tequila has announced it’s newest competition – Crafted in Clay – a unique challenge for bartenders to demonstrate their skill, expertise, respect for craftmanship, attention to detail and commitment to perfection.
Patrón Tequila has partnered with Auckland-based ceramicist Lily Weeds of Lil Ceramics to create a customised Lil Ceramics starter kit for bartenders to design and produce a personalised cocktail vessel.
The kit contains everything bartenders need to commence the process of learning a new craft, along with some guidance notes and videos to help get started with vessel design and modelling.
Judging, led by New Zealand Patrón Brand Director Kane Stanford, will take place in Auckland to find the top three finalists who are deemed to have created the best hand built cocktail vessel – and the tequila cocktail to go in it.
Finalists will then take part in an exclusive session with Lily Weeds, where they can further develop their ceramic skills.
As well as the trip to Auckland, prizes of $3,000, $1,500 and $1,000 will be awarded to first, second and third place respectively. The overall winner will continue to work with ceramicist Lily to finalise their design and produce 60 handmade vessels for use at their venue.
