The team behind Beach Booch is Alistair Kirk and George Wielechowski, who first dreamt up the idea together while in San Diego. However, it was ‘brain-storming’ late into the night in Auckland a year later, when the idea gathered a no stopping-momentum. Each flavour has been carefully curated and inspired by some of their favourite beach locations, then hand crafted by their Chief Brewer and hard-kombucha pioneer, Josh Makler.
Beach Booch is the latest innovation in lower sugar, hand crafted Hard Kombucha in New Zealand. Beach Booch wants you to “say yes” to road trips with friends, “say yes” to a Tuesday night dinner with mates and “say yes” to lower sugar, gluten free, gorgeous hard kombucha. Beach Booch is not just your average new summer drink, it’s your opportunity to enjoy the goodness of kombucha, blended with fruits and spices and supercharged to 5% ABV. Beach Booch is organic, vegan and contains no artificial flavours or preservatives.
Beach Booch is batch made, retaining its lower sugar gorgeousness. Starting with organic green and black tea, organic cane sugar and kick-started with Beach Booch live culture, the resulting smooth kombucha is fermented again, to produce the right amount of alcohol and blended with amazing organic flavours.
Beach Booch is inspired by the team’s favourite baches and beaches, celebrated in their first three launch flavours: 90 Mile Booch, which is a wonderful citrus/spice combination of Grapefruit & Ginger. Ocean Booch is a blend of Peach & Chilli (adding just a touch of warmth) and Raglan Booch is a gorgeous combination of Berry, Lemon & Sage.
This is just the beginning of the Beach Booch journey, their medium-term goal is to take Beach Booch to the world, to share some of the joy and sense of community you feel when living in or coming from Aotearoa.
Beach Booch hard kombucha is currently available in the Auckland region in single cans. Distribution around NZ will evolve over the spring and summer months. Beach Booch is available at all Farro stores Auckland wide. Single cans are 330ml at 5% ABV and contain 1.3 standard drinks per can. Beach Booch individual cans and flavours retail at $5.49 RRP.
