When you switch from an old, inefficient electric system or one that uses fossil fuel such as natural gas, to a hot water heat pump, you’ll reduce your costs and the carbon footprint of your business.
Air-to-water hot water heat pumps provide an energy-efficient, low-emissions solution to the traditional technology used to produce hot water in commercial and industrial spaces.
Over time, upgrading to more energy efficient systems, like hot water heat pumps, will save your business money and support a more renewable and resilient electricity grid.
Who can apply
If your business uses hot water for day-to-day operations, you can apply for up to 50% co-funding to upgrade your hot water heating as part of the Clean Tech Hot Water Heat Pump programme.
The programme helps with co-funding for ‘air-to-water’ hot water heat pumps that are used in commercial buildings.
How to apply for co-funding
The co-funding amount will be calculated based on your water usage and efficiency of the new system.
The total project cost is capped at $150,000 and available for air-to-water heat pump hot water systems, made up of single units or a combination of units in any size, but must total at least 15kW.
Contact an approved installer who will manage the process from the application stage to approval, quote and installation. They will also remove the old equipment.
Approved suppliers/installers are selected by EECA (the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) and you can find a list here.
