Expressions of interest are now open for judges and stewards for the New Zealand Beer Awards 2025.
The New Zealand Beer Awards Judging will take place on the 16th – 18th July 2025 at Riccarton Park in Christchurch.
Commitment required
If you are successful in your application, all stewards and judges will be required to arrive at Riccarton on Wednesday 16th of July from approximately 1pm (for judges), and 12pm (for stewards).
All participants are to arrange and pay for their own travel to and from the event.
For out-of-town participants, accommodation is provided for Wednesday and Thursday nights (and case-by-case for Friday night for those that have a long drive home).
The Guild will provide catering on the Wednesday evening, as well as breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday at Riccarton.
Electronic judging system
An electronic judging system will be used again this year.
Table captains will need to be available for a Zoom meeting in the weeks prior to the competition for a training refresh or introduction to the system.
All judges will be given access to, and briefing materials on the system in advance of the competition.
The system works on all devices and judges will be required to use their own device, laptops or tablets (no phones).

They always receive more applications than places available and not every person will be selected every year. Successful applicants will be advised by email in May.
