About Blue Duck Rare Vodka
Inspired by the extremely rare and endangered New Zealand blue duck (Hymenolaimus malacorhynchos), Blue Duck Rare Vodka is a super-premium spirit that is handcrafted, batch-distilled in a reflex copper pot still and blended with the purest water in the world to produce a velvety smooth texture and a highly distinctive and incomparable taste.
Simply Pure Rarified Spirits, the company behind creating Blue Duck Rare Vodka, also make Black Robin Rare Gin. A percentage of profits from each bottle of both brands are donated to the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand, an organisation dedicated to the preservation of rare birds for future generations.
Described by Shortlist magazine January 2015 as “Distilled an improbable seven times to ensure a silky-smooth finish, the Blue Duck owes its clean, crisp flavour in part to the water source of its New Zealand home – claimed to be amongst the cleanest in the world.”
In 2014, Blue Duck also waddled off with a double gold from the San Francisco Spirit Awards, remarkably only achieved by receiving a unanimous 100% from 40 internationally renowned judges, and was also awarded gold on the USA’s Fifty Best Imported Vodka list 2014.
