Melbourne Royal has announced the opening of entries for the 2024 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA).
The largest annual beer competition globally, the awards evaluate both draught and packaged beer, along with beer packaging design, and attracted a record 2,826 entries from more than 400 breweries spanning 21 countries in 2023.
Breweries of every size are encouraged to enter, from boutique microbreweries to the titans of large-scale commercial production.
In 2024, the Awards have 11 major trophies on offer, including the Champion Australian Beer and Champion International Beer trophies, accompanied by an additional 24 category trophies.
This year, Melbourne Royal has again confirmed an international judging contingent, details of the panel will be announced closer to judging.
The 2024 Australian International Beer Awards also includes two new additions to the 2023 Edition US Brewers Association Beer Style Guidelines – West Coast-Style India Pale Ale and Dessert or Pastry Stout, and New World Lager being split into Modern Lager and Modern Pilsner.
