Nothings says “I love you” like a Tomato & Basil Bouquet!

Looking for a novel idea to add to your Valentine’s Day menu? Take a look at the marketing opportunity Woolworths has snazzled! Perhaps enterprising restaurants could add some Mozzarella to their Caprese Salad and plate it like a love heart or bouquet!

This Valentine’s Day, Woolworths is offering a practical twist on the traditional flower bouquet. The “Fresh Bouquet” is a “lovingly arranged” bouquet of fresh basil, tasty tomatoes, and spaghetti – a beautiful gesture that’s also a beautiful meal.

Speaking on the food-quet, Ryan McMullen, Woolworths’ General Manager of Fruit and Veg, says, “At Woolworths, we’re all about fresh and we’re keen to see what people think of our new Fresh Bouquet. We’ll be listening closely and if there’s good feedback on this limited time offer- you might just find a new type Bouquet in your local store next Valentine’s!”.

And did you know?

•            Woolworths sell over 50,000 bouquets in Valentine’s week, around 10 times the number of a normal week

•            Roughly 75% of flower buyers on Valentine’s Day are male – the majority of these men only purchase flowers once a year!

•            Red roses out sell other flowers by 2 to 1 during Valentine’s week

•            Bouquet sales on Valentine’s day itself are 15 times higher than a normal day
