Celebrations for the 30th Edition of the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction will kick off on Saturday 17th September, where great wine lots, many of which are unique to the event, and a beautiful piece of original art are offered to a room of 600+ people, and afar.
For more than 30 years the Hawke’s Bay wine community, along with its partners, has been supporting its local community by raising funds for Cranford Hospice.
100% of the money raised goes to the operational side of Cranford Hospice, directly assisting those in need of their services each day.
Ways to bid on the auction:
- Purchase a ticket from the website, register as a bidder and attend the auction on Saturday 17th September.
- If you cannot be present, register as a bidder on the website and a representative will bid on your chosen Lot on your behalf, with a pre-agreed budget. This needs to be done by Friday 16th September so we can make arrangements. The Auction will be live-streamed on the website on the day.
- You can be a telephone bidder. This needs to be done by Friday 16th September.
- Pre-register a bid for any of the lots. The Auctioneer will have this information when the Lots come up.

About Cranford Hospice
On any given day, Cranford Hospice touches the lives of over 200 Hawke’s Bay husbands and wives, sons and daughters, friends, whānau, neighbours and colleagues. This past year alone the team made 34,000 contacts with 1,000 people living with palliative care needs across the Hawke’s Bay region – either in their home, on the phone, or in our inpatient unit. The youngest person they are supporting is only 1 year old, and the oldest being 100 years old. If you live in Hawke’s Bay, you are likely to know someone who has benefited from the care and support that Cranford teams provide around the clock.
Feature Artist
John Lancashire is a contemporary New Zealand painter living in Hawke’s Bay, also known as Monday Painter. John has been an artist for 20 years, over the past 10 years, he has built a reputation as a serious artist. Working in fine oils on canvas, Lancashire specialises in expressionist still life works imbued with character.
John has created a triptych collection ‘You Can’t Tell The Sky What To Do’, especially for the 30th Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction. This collection can be displayed as a single piece or split into three canvas’s. 3 x canvas stretchers @ 910 W x 1210 H x 30. combined measurement. 2730mm x 1210mm.
