JMR Cocktail & Co has announced the company’s closure at the end of March 2024.
The Wellington-based bottled cocktail brand launched seven years ago and the team says while the closure was a challenging decision to make, it’s also an exciting one.
“We’re so proud of the past almost seven years, the countless cocktails we’ve produced, the collaborations we’ve been a part of, the awesome suppliers and stockists we’ve worked with, our outstanding team (past and present!), and of course, the most amazing and loyal customers we could ever have asked for,” they said in a social media post.
“The truth of it is, of course the past few years have been difficult, but we’ve also had a shift in our priorities and focus, and it just simply feels like the right time to close the JMR chapter for now.”
Reports are that co-owner Amy Alexander took over Six Barrel Soda last year and will be focussing on on role as Managing Director of that company going forward.
“Thank you to each and every one of you who have provided such amazing support and enthusiasm as we’ve grown and changed over our seven years of trading,” said the post.
“We’ve loved every second – getting stuck in to bottling and production, yarning to you all at Food Shows and expos, working together to create memorable events, and all the behind-the-scenes bits in between. It’s been the ride of a lifetime and we thank you all for coming on it with us!”
