While Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave in designated regions, mezcal can be made from various types of agave, primarily in Oaxaca.

Classic Mezcalita Recipe
Ingredients:
2 oz mezcal
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
1/2 oz agave syrup
Salt for rimming the glass
Lime wheel or wedge for garnish
Instructions:
- Rim a glass with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the edge and dipping it into salt.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the mezcal, lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave syrup.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and enjoy!
