A global celebration of all things gin is set to be held on the second Saturday in June.
What is World Gin Day?
Pretty simply, World Gin Day is for everyone over 18 to celebrate and enjoy gin. Whether you’re already a fan of the juniper spirit, or looking for an intro, World Gin Day is the perfect opportunity to get involved.
The aim of World Gin Day
The day is to celebrate the love of the category and aims to give a platform for bars and brands to engage with the gin-loving public.
When is World Gin Day?
World Gin Day is always the second Saturday in June. This means the date moves around a little year-on-year.
Who is behind World Gin Day?
World Gin Day was founded by Birmingham native Neil Houston in 2009.
Emma Stokes, aka Gin Monkey, and Houston were already firm gin-friends, and so it made sense to bring the celebrations to London in 2010.
Since then, the day has grown year on year, reaching an ever bigger audience and now Stokes is formally in charge of the global celebration.
What happens on World Gin Day?
World Gin Day events run in more than 30 countries around the world, reaching over 200 million people on social channels. Search for the #WorldGinDay hashtag across social media.
