The Millton Vineyard has been awarded Vintec Sustainable Vineyard of the year at the NZ Organic Wine Awards.
It was the first time entering the competition for the Gisborne-based organic winery.
They also received a gold medal for the 2016 Opou Chardonnay.
Millton – New Zealand’s first organic vineyard and the oldest biodynamic vineyard in the Southern Hemisphere – says the judging panel was impressed at their continued dedication to Organic and Biodynamic principles.
The ‘Riedel Wine of the Show’ was awarded to the Carrick ‘Josephine’ Central Otago Riesling 2017
This was the fifth annual NZ Organic Wine Awards which aims to find and promote New Zealand’s best organic wines.
