The Trusts have announced a cocktail competition, the Battle of the Bartenders, taking place this month.
From March 1-31, cocktail enthusiasts are invited to join the teams from eight different venues as they search for the best cocktail in The West.
The winning bartender will then be crowned based on customer votes.

The Good Home – Henderson
Cocktail: Rhubarb Vanilia Sour
Description: An elegant blend of Absolut Vanilia vodka and fresh lemon juice, harmonized with a delicate mix of vanilla, rhubarb, raspberry, and rosehip syrup. Shaken to perfection with egg white for a smooth, velvety finish.
The Taphouse – Avondale
Cocktail: Salted Caramel Espresso Martini
Description: A decadent blend of Baileys, Vanilla Galliano, and Kahlua, with a touch of simple syrup and cold brew for a rich, smooth coffee twist.
Greenfields – Westgate
Cocktail: Reese’s Peanut Cup
Description: A rich, shaken cocktail featuring peanut butter whiskey, served in a martini glass rimmed with chocolate sauce and chopped peanuts. Topped off with a mini Reese’s peanut butter cup for the ultimate sweet and salty treat.
Mr. Illingsworth – Te Atatū
Cocktail: Trader’s Rum Punch
Description: A tropical blend of golden rum, pineapple, lime, maraschino, pomegranate, and ginger, served in a festive tiki cup for a vibrant, island-inspired experience.
iTi – Titirangi
Cocktail: Negroni Spagliato
Description: A spritz-style twist on the classic Negroni. The bitterness of Campari is balanced by the subtle sweetness and complexity of vermouth while rosé prosecco adds a refreshing effervescence elevating the drink.
Bricklane – New Lynn
Cocktail: Irish Sea (St. Paddy’s Inspired)
Description: Bushmills paired with Midori, Blue Curacao, and pineapple, shaken and layered over crushed ice, garnished with dry raspberries for a bold and vibrant finish.
Workshop – Kelston
Cocktail: Indigo Spritz
Description: A refreshing and vibrant blend of gin, Blue Curaçao, grenadine, lemonade, and lime, creating a perfect balance of citrusy zing and fruity sweetness. A lively, thirst-quenching experience.
The Hangar – Henderson
Cocktail: Runaway Ripple
Description: Old-school candy-inspired flavors of peaches & cream, strawberry & cream, and passionfruit & cream, with a tart, colorful base and topped with a velvety vanilla foam, garnished with lollies.
How to Participate…
Customers can visit any of the participating venues, try the signature cocktails, and cast their votes. Each vote enters the customer into a draw to win a $250 voucher. May the best cocktail win!
