Following the re-scheduling of the New Zealand International Wine Show due to COVID-19 restrictions – twice -organisers have confirmed that judging will take place from February 2-4, 2022.
As many of the 24 senior judges are winemakers, NZIWS Convener, Kingsley Wood, says they are hoping for a normal vintage which will allow a full compliment to attend the re-scheduled event.
The main harvest in New Zealand usually commences later in February, early March.
“We are committed to completing the 2021 NZ International Wine Show and we have received a record number of international entries,” says Wood.
“Most of the overseas judging samples have been received and are safely stored for the February event.
“We are very sorry for the delays but these are difficult times and we greatly appreciate the understanding and support from the industry.”
All of the new dates will be available online at www.nziws.co.nz and there are now opportunities to enter wines that may not have been available on the original dates.
The Trophy Awards Event is yet to be confirmed.
