Organic Winegrowers New Zealand (OWNZ) has announced dates for the main event of Organic Wine Week (OWW).
“Down to Earth” will take place at Prefab Hall in Wellington on 17 September 2024 and at Brad’s Warehouse in Auckland on 19 September 2024.
Established by OWNZ in 2017, OWW is a seven-day celebration of all things organic wine.
Ushering in the Spring Equinox, this year’s festivities take place 16-22 September 2024.
Down to Earth brings people together in a vibrant atmosphere, with thoughtful food, and delicious organic wines poured by some of Aotearoa’s best producers.
It’s a one-of-a-kind tasting event where attendees have the chance to taste a selection of New Zealand’s most interesting organic wines and meet more than 25 producers all in one place.
“An increasing number of people are making ethical and environmental purchasing decisions and Down to Earth is a great opportunity for them to taste wines before they buy and learn about the importance and quality of organic wine, as well as its positive impact on people and the environment,” says Naomi Galvin, OWNZ Marketing & Events Coordinator.
Each Down to Earth event kicks off with a registered trade session from 2:30pm – 4:30pm, followed by a ticketed public session from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
In addition to Down to Earth, other OWW activities such as wine list takeovers, winery pop-ups, winemaker dinners, retail promotions, and instore tastings are all in the air as wineries, trade and consumers alike get into the spirit of the week.
Trade registrations and public tickets will be available on the OWNZ website in late July.
