Left Field received its first ever trophy recently for the lusciously pink Left Field Hawkes Bay Rosé 2015 at the largest NZ wine competition, The New Zealand International Wine Show.
With more than 30 Rosés entered into the category and six of them receiving a gold medal, it is a thrilling result for this relative newcomer.
Winemaker Richard Painter was on hand to receive the trophy and commented about the wine, “Rosé is currently the fastest growing category in New Zealand having enjoyed tremendous growth over the last couple of years. As one might expect with our philosophy of discovery and the unexpected, this wine is possibly a world first unique blend of merlot, pinotage and arneis which really sets it apart from the other Rosés on the market,” he said.

Strawberry, cranberry and crunchy raspberry are jubilant and excitable. They bounce off the walls with brightness and freshness. Their more serious side advocates a richer, sophisticated and slightly drier personality.
