Barossa Valley winery, Peter Lehmann Wines, has launched its new release Shiraz – Peter Lehmann The Barossan Shiraz 2015 – in New Zealand.
The Barossan Shiraz 2015 showcases a quintessential Barossa Shiraz crafted by Tim Dolan, Senior Winemaker and the next generation of PLW winemakers. The 2015 vintage is Tim’s take on the classic varietal, demonstrating rich flavours and generous character in an approachable, soft and well-rounded style of Shiraz.
A born-and-bred Barossan, Tim respects the tradition and integrity of Barossa Shiraz and has carefully selected the fruit which he feels best represents his beloved region to create this wine. Fruit for The Barossan Shiraz 2015 has been sourced from some of the longest standing grower families in the Barossa; third, fourth and fifth generation growers from across the region have shared pristine fruit from mature vineyards, the oldest dating back to 1966. The wine has been crafted to highlight the unique attributes and qualities of the Barossa’s many sub regions, each of which brings an individual characteristic to the wine.
“Shiraz is the signature variety for the Barossa Valley and Peter Lehmann,” says Peter Lehmann Brand Ambassador, Malcolm Stopp. “Peter Lehmann Winemakers have been crafting iconic, award-winning Barossan Shiraz since 1980 The Barossan Shiraz is an excellent example of how Barossa Shiraz has evolved from big, bold, robust wines to soft and well-rounded styles displaying elegant bright fruit and fine tannins.”
