Kiwi boxing sensation Joseph Parker will attempt to secure a guaranteed world title shot in the richest boxing event ever in NZ, surpassing the David Tua versus Shane Cameron event in 2009.
Parker’s “Road to the Title” heads back to where it all began, in South Auckland where he grew up as a young boy, and the kiwi will need all the local support he can get.
Facing Parker will be Cameroon-born Frenchman Carlos Takam, who has earned international respect through trading punches and beating some of the toughest fighters in the world.
However, one dissenting voice just happens to come from the biggest name in boxing. Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, who stunned the world after beating the great Wladimir Klitschko last November, is in no doubt Parker can win.
Guests will also be treated to an exciting undercard featuring talent from around the country and once again the Buttabean will be back to put on a show for local fans and foes.
