Nelson’s Sprig & Fern Brewery has announced the location and branding for the next Sprig & Fern venue in Seatoun, Wellington.
Little Sprig Seatoun will have eight taps of Sprig & Fern’s award-winning craft beer and cider and will be a smaller footprint than the traditional Sprig & Fern tavern. Like all Sprig & Fern venues, the Little Sprig will focus on community and conversation without the inclusion of televisions, pool tables or pokies. The Sprig & Fern brand in synonymous with community involvement and support and Little Sprig will be no different.
“At the Sprig & Fern Tahuna we have become known as the ‘Sprig by the sea’ and this is something we will repeat in Seatoun,” says Sam Fitzgerald, Little Sprig Seatoun co-owner. “Award-winning beer, great food and community near the beach is the perfect combination in a location we felt needed a community gathering space.”
Lee Brown, Sprig & Fern General Manager, says they see the Little Sprig model as half the taps but all the flavour. “With all the community, family friendly environmental elements and great conversation that you come to expect from a Sprig & Fern Tavern, it is a model we will look to replicate in the future,” he says.
Little Sprig Seatoun will become the 11th venue under the Sprig & Fern brand umbrella and is owned by Sam Fitzgerald and Ben Douglas who also own the very popular Sprig & Fern Tavern in Tahunanui, Nelson.
Little Sprig at 27 Dundas St, Seatoun, is due to open in April.
