Super Liquor and Glenfiddich have announced they are selling a super-rare bottle of Glenfiddich 50 Year Old Scotch.
One of only 500 bottles ever produced worldwide, the single malt has spent 50 years maturing in oak casks and is the jewel in the Glenfiddich crown.
Amongst the most valuable whiskies Glenfiddich has ever released, it is presented in a hand-blown bottle, individually numbered in wax and finished in Scottish silver by Thomas Fattorini, a sixth generation silversmith.
The Glenfiddich 50 Year Old has been set in a hand-stitched, leather-bound case, inspired by William Grant’s personal ledgers.
Inside the case there is also a leather-bound book which details the whisky’s history and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, signed by Charles Gordon, Life President and William’s great-grandson, and all the key long-serving craftsmen.
The 50YO is being sold as part of Super Liquor’s 25th birthday celebrations and is expected to reach around $50,000.
The new owner will be invited to register their ownership by having the certificate personally signed by William Grant’s great-great-grandson, Peter Gordon, which will then be recorded in the Glenfiddich ledger.
In addition to the 50YO, there are also limited numbers of the super Glenfiddich 30YO and 40YO available to purchase.
