The World’s 50 Best Bars has revealed the international venues that just missed out on a top place in this year’s list.
The 2020 51-100 list includes bars from 29 cities across 23 countries, with 26 new entries on the list.
The UK has four London bars on the 51-100 list, with Scout taking out number 51. The US has seven bars, Asia has 16 (five from Singapore), and Melbourne made the list with four bars, led by The Everleigh at No.73. New Zealand did not feature.
“The evolution of the 51-100 list, which sees 26 new entries this edition, reflects the pace of progress in the global cocktail industry,” says Mark Sansom, Content Editor for The World’s 50 Best Bars.
“Despite relentless challenges this year, these bars have emerged with inspiring resilience, with many advancing in their recovery process.
“As guests look to start planning their next bar experiences, we hope that this extended list will be a source of inspiration to get people talking about returning to great cocktail bars as soon as they can.
“We also hope it will become a source of optimism for bars around the world, as they continue to strive to deliver safe, secure and enjoyable hospitality experiences in the face of ever-changing restrictions.”
The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020 will be unveiled in a digital countdown on 5th November, beginning at 3pm UK time.
Bars and cocktail lovers are invited to join the virtual ceremony on The World’s 50 Best Bars Facebook page and 50 Best Bars TV YouTube channel.
