The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 has revealed the extended 51-100 list.
The annual list is decided by a voting panel comprising 680 independent global drinks experts – from bartenders, educators and consultants to drinks writers and cocktail specialists.
The 51-100 list includes bars spanning 34 different cities across the world, with 14 new entries and three cities featuring for the first time: Tulum, Guadalajara and Tirana.
Danico in Paris took out this year’s No.51 spot, just missing out on the top 50.
The USA leads the 51-100 list with six bars featured, including four from New York: Attaboy at No.57; new entry Martiny’s at No.68; Maison Premiere at No.91 and Employees Only at No.99.
Chicago’s Kumiko is at No.82 alongside Thunderbolt in Los Angeles at No.89.
Europe retains its crown as the continent with the most entries, with five of 17 in the UK including London’s Lyaness (No.54), Artesian (No.100) Swift (No.76) and Donovan Bar (No.92).
Singapore comes out on top in Asia with five bars on the list out of a total of 14 across Asia and Down Under, Melbourne’s Byrdi re-entered the list at No.61.
No New Zealand bars made the 51-100 list this year.
“When we launched the extended list of The World’s 50 Best Bars our intention was to shine a light on an even greater cross-section of the most exceptional destinations for cocktail lovers,” says William Drew, Director of Content, 50 Best.
“Now, in its seventh year, we are delighted to recognise the remarkable hospitality experiences offered by these establishments across 34 incredible cities.
“As we take to the road, leaving Europe for the first time in our history to celebrate the greatest cocktail bars in the world in the iconic city of Singapore, we extend our warmest congratulations to each and every one of the superb teams whose bars have been named on the list.”
