Australian brewery Victoria Bitter has launched a beer flavoured tea.
Victoria Bitter tea is a combination of Ceylon black tea leaves and VB Super Pride Hops and is blended in Australia from local and imported ingredients.
The tea bags have proved so popular with Aussies that they have sold out, but VB reps have assured customers that they are being restocked asap.
The limited edition packs contain 24 tea bags for AUS$10 and while they do not contain any alcohol, the taste is very similar to a can of VB.
Chris Maxwell, Victoria Bitter Brand Director told The Herald Sun the VB Tea was launched to help Aussie cricket fans who had to stay up late at night to sit through the Ashes and get up early in the morning.
“We know Aussies love nothing more than watching the cricket with a VB in hand,” he says. “So, when the boys are in England, they’ll be watching into the wee hours of the morning and need a cuppa.”
If you fancy trying it, keep an eye out here for when they pop back on sale (mug and biscuits not included apparently!) – https://www.victoriabitter.com.au/products/vb-tea
