Wither Hills Single Vineyard Rarangi Sauvignon Blanc has received the highest mark in The Wine Advocate’s latest Sauvignon Blanc review.
The vintage received 91 points on the 100-point rating system, the highest score of the 95 Marlborough 2015 Sauvignon Blancs reviewed (only two other wines received the same result).
The Wine Advocate is a publication established by Robert M. Parker, one of the most influential wine critics in the world.
“The Wither Hills 2015 Rarangi Sauvignon Blanc has an intense nose of orange blossoms. It offers great intensity and depth on the palate with a nice suggestion of texture and some mineral notes in the long finish,” says The Wine Advocate judge, Lisa Perotti-Brown.
Wither Hills winemaker Sally Williams says the result is testament to the team’s hard work growing, and crafting Wither Hills’ Single Vineyard wines. “Our Single vineyard wines are growing in popularity both here in New Zealand and in our export markets – so this is a huge honour,” she says.
“Single Vineyard wines such as our Rarangi Sauvignon Blanc are particularly special to us at Wither Hills as they showcase the uniqueness of each site and why these vineyards are so important to our story.”
